In recent years, the Together4Home Affairs platform has become one of the most important mechanisms for coordinating international assistance in support of the home affairs sector. By aligning national priorities with the expertise and investments of development partners, the platform ensures that external support translates into tangible results for citizens.
In this context, the Ministry of Internal Affairs organized the strategic meeting of the Together4Home Affairs platform. The opening session brought together the Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin, Martina Spernbauer, Head of the Governance Team at the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, and Elizabeth Lawrence, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, alongside ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations, and development partners.
Discussions focused on the challenges and priorities reflected in the ministry’s Development Matrix for 2026 – 2028, as well as on the impact of investments made to strengthen institutions and improve the safety and well-being of communities across the country.
“Moldova is advancing on its European path as a responsible candidate country and security partner. The Ministry of Internal Affairs plays a central role in this transformation. By strengthening border security, combating organized crime, modernizing institutions, advancing digitalization, enhancing civil protection, and expanding operational cooperation with international partners, the Ministry is increasingly assuming the role of a security provider,” stated Minister Misail-Nichitin.
The Development Matrix for 2026 – 2028 outlines the priority areas for cooperation over the coming years and is structured around four strategic objectives: combating organized crime, strengthening emergency management and climate risk management capacities, developing the border, migration, and asylum management system, and advancing institutional modernization through digitalization, integrity, and more efficient public services.
These priorities support the implementation of Moldova’s commitments under the European Union accession process, particularly in the areas of security, justice, and border management. At the same time, they contribute to enhancing institutional capacities to respond rapidly, effectively, and in a coordinated manner to current and emerging risks.
In a regional environment shaped by hybrid threats, cross-border crime, cyber risks, and increasingly complex security challenges, strengthening the capabilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a direct investment in citizens’ safety, state resilience, and the security of Europe’s eastern border.
Today, the Together4Home Affairs platform brings together more than 75 partners, supports over 250 projects, and serves 13 beneficiary units within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The results of these initiatives are reflected in more efficient public services, stronger institutions, and enhanced operational and response capabilities across the sector.
