The Republic of Moldova and the Federal Republic of Germany continue to strengthen their partnership in strategic areas, including border security, migration management, and institutional preparedness for European integration.
These priorities were discussed during a meeting between Diana Salcuțan, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and a delegation from the Bavarian State Parliament led by Wolfgang Hauber. The discussions were also attended by the heads of the General Inspectorate of Border Police and the General Inspectorate for Migration.
“Germany is a trusted partner for Moldova, and its expertise plays an important role in strengthening our institutions. Every project we implement together contributes to better and safer public services for our citizens”, said Diana Salcuțan.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress in Moldova’s European integration process, assess the results of ongoing cooperation projects, and explore new avenues for collaboration. Particular emphasis was placed on experience sharing, professional development, and initiatives aimed at further strengthening institutional capacity.
Participants also discussed the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ priorities in integrated border management, migration and asylum, as well as the reforms needed to align national institutions with European standards in the context of the country’s EU accession efforts.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains committed to strengthening partnerships supporting institutional performance and the continuous improvement of public services for the Moldovan people.
