“European Economy. Efficient State.” – the Government Programme shaping Moldova’s future

Ensuring the safety of citizens and strengthening the institutions responsible for protecting them are among the central priorities of the Government Programme “European Economy. Efficient State.” The programme, which will be presented by the candidate Prime Minister to Parliament for a vote of confidence, sets out the Government’s vision for a stronger, more resilient, and more efficient Republic of Moldova.

Within this framework, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is committed to building a modern security system that is responsive to citizens’ needs, capable of addressing evolving threats, and aligned with the country’s European integration agenda.

The Ministry’s priorities for the coming years include enhancing community safety, public order, and road safety; strengthening the fight against organized, cross-border, and cybercrime; advancing integrated border management and preparations for Schengen accession; improving migration and asylum management; reinforcing civil protection and emergency response capacities; investing in a professional, ethical, and well-equipped workforce; and accelerating digital transformation, interoperability, and data-driven decision-making. Together, these priorities form the foundation of a modern Ministry of Internal Affairs – one equipped to anticipate risks, respond effectively to emerging challenges, and deliver high-quality public services.

Through these reforms, the Ministry continues to strengthen national security, enhance public trust in state institutions, and advance Moldova’s path towards a safer, more resilient, and European future.
