The Government has approved a set of national indicators to enable unified monitoring of domestic violence and violence against women. Until now, data has been collected in a fragmented manner by the police, prosecutors, courts, and health, education, and social services, with limited ability to correlate information, reducing the effectiveness of interventions.
The new mechanism will consolidate all relevant data into a single system, providing a clear and comprehensive picture of the phenomenon. This will allow authorities to identify high-risk situations and cases with a likelihood of recurrence more quickly, enabling earlier prevention and more effective responses. Victims will also benefit from better-coordinated support services.
The “VioData State Register” information system will serve as the central platform for data collection and analysis, equipping authorities with reliable tools for informed decision-making and ensuring consistent monitoring at the national level.
At the same time, the mechanism will support the development of evidence-based public policies and improve the targeting of services for victims, strengthening both protection and prevention efforts.
Implementation of the indicators will be led by the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, which will coordinate and oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting nationwide.
