From April 15 to 17, a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, led by Secretary of State Daniella Misail-Nichitin, visited Berlin to attend the European Police Congress. During the Congress, Secretary of State Daniella Misail-Nichitin emphasized the importance of women’s active participation in peace and security processes, underscoring their crucial role in fostering societal stability.
Throughout their stay, the delegation engaged in a series of bilateral meetings. These discussions included talks with representatives from Europol and the European External Action Service (EEAS), focusing on enhancing cooperation in security matters and advancing mutual interests in strengthening law enforcement institutions through external assistance initiatives aimed at bolstering the EU accession process.
Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with high-ranking German officials, including Tobias Lindner, Minister of State in the Federal Foreign Office, and Gesa Bräutigam, Representative for Women, Peace and Security, to explore avenues to expand the assistance provided to Moldova in the field of security.
The delegation also met with Hans-Georg Engelke, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, and Holger Münch, President of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).
These meetings focused on identifying practical means through which Germany can support the goals of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs in enhancing resilience. Discussions revolved around topics such as enhancing migration management capabilities, bolstering public safety in communities and public areas, and reinforcing emergency response capabilities.
The pro-active engagement of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs delegation demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing security and fostering international collaborations to uphold regional and global stability and prosperity.
