The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is pleased to announce the organization of the International Forum “Children’s Online Safety,” scheduled to take place in Chisinau on Februarie 15-16, 2024. Organized in partnership with the International Centre “La Strada”, with the support of the US Department of State and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, the event will bring together government representatives, international and national organizations, delegates from the European Commission and the governments of EU Member States, ICT experts, civil society, and other experts. The Forum features six panels on its agenda.
The first panel, entitled “The legal perspective: good practices and priority interventions in response to online child sexual abuse and exploitation”, can be watched live on 15 Februarie between 11:00 and 12:15. Panel speakers will discuss the implementation of the European Directive 2011/93, the impact of the EU Centre to prevent and combat child sexual abuse, and legislative initiatives to adapt the national regulatory framework.
The participation of speakers from the European Commission, the Romanian and Moldovan Parliaments will enable a constructive exchange of ideas to streamline the interventions for a safer internet for children.
