(video) Address by US Ambassador to Moldova, H.E. Kent D. Logsdon, in the context of the International Forum “Child Safety Online” on the importance of protecting children in the online environment

During the International Forum “Child Safety Online” announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, young people of the Republic of Moldova will come with a message to the authorities. Thus, within the panel moderated by the Youth Media Centre, high-school students will share their perspectives on online safety, addressing specific challenges faced in the digital environment. The main topics of discussion will include defining online safety and identifying the challenges young people face in the digital environment; the role of schools in supporting young people to cope with these challenges; and formulating messages to the authorities about the importance of their involvement in creating a safer internet for children in Moldova.

This panel is a great opportunity to better understand young people’s perspectives on online safety and to encourage a constructive dialogue between young people and authorities.

The International Forum “Child Safety Online” will take place on Februarie 15-16, 2024 and will be streamed live on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Internal Affairs https://www.facebook.com/MinisterulAfacerilorInterneRM/

The event, organized in partnership with the International Centre “La Strada” with support from the US Department of State and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, will bring together government representatives, international and national organizations, delegates from the European Commission and the governments of EU Member States, ICT experts, civil society, and other experts.
