November 1, 2023, Chisinau – The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, had a bilateral discussion with Meshaal bin Mohammed bin Ajaj Al-Kubaisi, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Moldova.
The possibilities of advancing bilateral cooperation on several dimensions were addressed, especially regarding cyber security, taking over good practices from the State of Qatar in the development and implementation of SMART/intelligence solutions to improve the internal affairs system, border management to combat cross-border crime, as well as and common measures in ensuring the security of citizens.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs focuses on providing quality services for citizens, on strengthening its position at the regional and international level, thus becoming a regional security provider, by introducing the concept of European security in its daily activity”, said Adrian Efros.
In the margins of the discussions, it was emphasized the need to carry out joint training programs, so as to increase the degree of training and professionalism of the employees of the MIA subdivisions.
The parties also discussed the development of collaboration in the fields of civil protection, operational intervention in case of major fires, managing the consequences of exceptional technical and natural situations.The representatives of the State of Qatar confirmed the openness to boost relations with the Republic of Moldova.
