Four large Working Groups of experts from both countries met to address the key areas of strategic collaboration between our countries: strengthening democracy, the rule of law and good governance; fostering trade and economic cooperation; security and defense, including cyber security; public diplomacy; and developing ties between U.S. and Moldovan citizens.
State Secretary of the MIA Andrei Cecoltan attended the Working Group on security and defence.
As Andrei Cecoltan has mentioned, the Republic of Moldova was among the first countries to signal the negative effects of the war and the growing trends of cross-border crime, threats and hybrid manifestations.
The official thanked the US partners for their openness to continue the common roadmap in the areas of intelligence sharing, investigations, evidence management, communication technologies, cyber security, recruitment and training.
According to the State Secretary, a common approach to these issues would help strengthen resilience and security in the broadest sense, which impact not only on public safety, but also on food safety, transport, health and environment.
