The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, and the Deputy General Secretary of the MIA, Vladislav Cojuhari, had a bilateral meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway for Romania and Republic of Moldova, Her Excellency, Siri Barry.
During the discussions, the specific areas of collaboration and joint cooperation were addressed and future actions were highlighted.
Officials reviewed the security situation in the region and how Moldova is handling the refugee crisis as well as hybrid threats.
The parties evaluated the developments of the Moldovan-Norwegian dialogue in the context of granting the candidate country state to the EU and the reforms undertaken by the authorities to advance on the European path. During the meeting, they talked about the regional situation and the measures taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to secure borders and ensure a safe climate for citizens.
Minister Adrian Efros thanked Norwegian partners for their support in modernizing the internal affairs system and emphasized the importance of their experience and assistance in implementing democratic reforms.
The participants showed openness for future collaboration and cooperation on topics of common interest.
