Strengthening ties: Moldova and Montenegro deepen cooperation in security and home affairs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted an official meeting with Dalibor Đurović – Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Montenegro in Romania to enhance bilateral cooperation in security and home affairs. Key topics of discussion included the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security, strategies to prevent and combat organized crime, cyber security, combating trafficking in human beings and sharing best practices among law enforcement agencies.

The parties also explored the organization of a study visit to Montenegro to identify effective solutions for preventing cross-border crime and to gain insights from the experience of Montenegrin authorities in internal affairs.

Additionally, the parties considered potential formalization of the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding, which would facilitate joint initiatives and create new opportunities for professional and operational exchanges between the two countries.
