On April 9, 2024, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) engaged in an important bilateral discussion with a delegation from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, a UK-based organization dedicated to fostering good governance in emerging democracies and facilitating structural reforms.
During the discussion, Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros outlined the progress on two key national priorities included in the National Plan “Building a European Moldova”: securing borders and combating corruption. He also emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to achieving the objectives set forth in the plan.
The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change delegation underscored the importance of a holistic approach to addressing global challenges, including extremism, governance issues, and countering populism. They explored potential avenues through which the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change could provide support and expertise to bolster democratic institutions in Moldova.
Both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing collaboration to drive positive change within Moldova and internationally. The Tony Blair Institute’s overarching goal is to catalyze global change by tackling contemporary societal challenges.
