Representatives of the Assistance Program for Training in the Field of International Criminal Investigations (INCITAP) visiting MIA

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, and the Deputy General Secretary of the MIA, Vladislav Cojuhari, had a bilateral meeting with the representatives of the International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) from the USA.

The discussions focused on combating cross-border crime, corruption, hybrid threats, as well as the efforts of development partners to strengthen the capacities of the internal affairs system, for a safer border and quality services for citizens.

In this context, the leadership of the MIA informed the US representatives about the challenges and the steps taken to cover the consequences generated by the war in the neighboring country and the strengthening of the borders both at the national and regional level.

The parties emphasized the need to strengthen the capacities of the internal affairs system including by exchange of experience, study visits and maintaining an active dialogue further.

We specify that ICITAP provides international development assistance and supports both national security and foreign policy objectives.
