Strengthening the European partnership is extremely important for the system of internal affairs of the Republic of Moldova in the context of granting EU candidate status. In this regard, Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, met with his counterpart, Minister of the Interior and Administration of the Republic of Poland, Mariusz Kamiński.
The officials discussed the volatile situation in the region, as well as the spectre of hybrid challenges facing Moldova. In this regard, Minister Efros thanked his Polish counterpart for the contribution aimed at modernizing the capacities of the internal affairs system, through various mechanisms, assistance projects, expertise and equipment supplies. ‚We are looking forward to further developing a lasting cohesion with our Polish partners. We currently have ambitious ongoing projects that will contribute to the development and modernisation of law enforcement bodies in order to ensure security and public order for our citizens’ said Minister Efros. ‘Also, thanks to the cooperation with the Polish partners, the Republic of Moldova strengthens the security belt of Europe and becomes a security provider for the European area.’
Minister Kamiński spoke about key challenges for the regional security and stressed the importance of the strategic partnership. ‘We need to act together because we share a common goal: to ensure and maintain security in Europe. Poland has shown that it stands by the Republic of Moldova’ Minister Kamiński said.
The officials also talked about the short and medium-term objectives and priorities of the MIA. At the same time, the Ministers participated in a meeting with the Special Forces Police Brigade ’Fulger’ of the General Police Inspectorate and paid a working visit to the administrative area near the Varnita.
