Chișinău, July 11, 2024 – Today, Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros held a meeting with Jakub Wisniewski, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The discussion focused on the ongoing cooperation between Moldova and Poland, particularly in the areas of development and support for Moldova’s EU accession process.
One of the key topics discussed during the meeting was the Polish Development Cooperation. The officials made an overview of the assistance provided by Poland and its role in Moldova’s development.
Another topic addressed by the officials was the support for EU accession and Poland’s openness to share its expertise through training programs and various technical cooperation projects. This collaboration is vital as Moldova works to align its national legislation with EU standards.
Regarding the bilateral cooperation, Minister Efros appreciated the openness of Solidarity Fund Pl to provide support for building intervention and personal protection capabilities of Moldovan special forces, reducing the response time and improving mobility of special forces in crisis and high-risk situations.
Additionally, Minister Efros informed the Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs about the ministry ‘s priorities, which include among others establishing strong ties between law enforcement and communities to foster safety and trust; enhancing regional coordination of police forces to optimize resource allocation and response efficiency; improving emergency response through rapid deployment via emergency hotline 122; Implementing rigorous border inspection procedures to prevent illegal activities; modernisation of border control points; implementing effective systems to alert and respond swiftly to potential disasters.
