Today, March 12, 2024, Adrian Efros, the Minister of Internal Affairs, engaged in a productive discussion with Lars Lönnback, the Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Moldova.
During the meeting, they addressed pertinent matters concerning the efficient management of migration and emergency situations in the country. The agenda encompassed updates on IOM programming, contingency planning, and assistance in the EU accession process.
Moreover, the fruitful collaboration between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the IOM was underscored, highlighting initiatives like organizing military exercises for emergency management and providing ongoing support for the integration of foreigners in Moldova.
The parties emphasized ongoing projects and grants, currently funded by various partner organizations and countries, aimed at bolstering migration and emergency management capabilities in Moldova.
Additionally, they reiterated commitment to sustained and fruitful cooperation to foster stability and sustainable development in our country. It’s worth noting that in recent years, IOM support has extended to advisory, logistical, financial, and material assistance, IOM demonstrating openness to broaden the scope of intervention.
