To strengthen border security, the Government has approved amendments to the operational framework of the National Council for Integrated State Border Management. The initiative introduces a national mechanism for the continuous assessment of border management, aligned with the European Union model.
The new framework will enhance interinstitutional cooperation and strengthen the authorities’ capacity to respond to risks such as irregular migration, human trafficking, and other forms of cross-border crime. At the same time, the mechanism will enable the state to plan and prioritize investments in border infrastructure and equipment more effectively.
The implementation of these measures will increase security for citizens by preventing emerging risks and ensuring more efficient management of border traffic, in line with European best practices.
