The fourth contingent of Carabinieri departs for the KFOR international mission in Kosovo

The Republic of Moldova continues to stand where peace and stability need support. Today, the fourth contingent of Carabinieri departed to join the KFOR international mission in Kosovo. The team, comprising one woman and two men, will represent our country with professionalism and honor on the international stage of peace and security.

Over the next six months, Moldovan carabinieri will serve as part of the Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU), working alongside partners from NATO and European Union member states. Their mission will include maintaining public order, ensuring freedom of movement, protecting communities, and strengthening trust in sensitive areas.

The official ceremony was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin, Secretary of State Alexandru Bejan, leadership of the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri, H.E. Giuseppe Maria Perricone, Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Moldova, and other partners.

“The mission you are about to undertake is both a test of responsibility and a reflection of the international community’s trust in the professionalism and discipline of Moldova’s Carabinieri. Return home safely, with the pride of a mission accomplished and experiences that will inspire our entire institution”, said Minister Misail-Nichitin.

“We are committed to carrying out our duties with responsibility and professionalism. We will wear the Carabinieri uniform with pride and demonstrate that Moldova is an active contributor to international peace”, emphasized Captain Alexandru Rozlovan, commander of the contingent.

The participation of the Carabinieri in international missions and operations represents an important contribution to maintaining global peace, security, and stability, upholding fundamental rights and freedoms, and promoting the rule of law, in line with the UN Charter and Moldova’s international commitments.
