Faster travels: negotiations for coordinated border control at Lipcani – Rădăuți Prut

To facilitate the mobility of citizens and transport operators and to modernize border-crossing management, the Government has approved the launch of negotiations with Romania on introducing coordinated control at the Lipcani – Rădăuți Prut road crossing point.

Coordinated control is already successfully applied at several border-crossing points and has shown very good results. Once introduced at Lipcani – Rădăuți Prut, people will benefit from reduced waiting times, faster crossings, and simpler procedures. For transport operators, it means time savings and smoother traffic. For the authorities, it avoids repeated checks and ensures better organization of flows.

At the same time, cooperation between the border and customs institutions of the two states becomes more efficient, contributing to risk prevention and increased safety for all travellers. This agreement will contribute to the modernization of the border and to bringing Moldova and Romania closer.
