Projects supported by Germany contribute to enhancing public safety in Moldova

Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and the German Federal Ministry of the Interior is focused on strengthening institutional capacities and improving the ability of law enforcement agencies to prevent and combat crime. This partnership includes regular expert exchanges, working visits, the sharing of best practices in crisis management, the modernization of equipment, and the provision of operational support.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexandru Bejan, met with representatives of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior during their visit to Moldova to assess projects implemented with German support.

During the discussions, the officials highlighted the tangible results achieved through bilateral cooperation in recent years. Alongside training programs, study visits, and technical expertise, several practical initiatives have been implemented, including the development of traffic education parks for children and the establishment of mobile prevention and information centers. These projects contribute to strengthening public safety, preventing crime, and improving citizen-focused services.

The parties also explored new areas of cooperation including the development of services for the protection of children and other vulnerable groups, the expansion of road safety education programs, and the digitization of operational and administrative processes within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

State Secretary Alexandru Bejan expressed his appreciation for Germany’s continued support and emphasized the important role of joint projects in modernizing the Ministry of Internal Affairs, bringing its institutions closer to European standards, and advancing Moldova’s European integration agenda.
