Strengthening the internal affairs system with the support of the EUPM partners

The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a meeting with the representatives of the EU Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM Moldova). The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, together with the Head of the EU Partnership Mission in Moldova, Cosmin George Dinescu.

Members of the EUPM Moldova delegation were briefed on crisis management of various types, in a period full of hybrid threats impacting on public order and security.

During the discussion, areas and activities were identified in which the EUPM Moldova and the Ministry of Internal Affairs could synchronize their efforts to ensure the sustainability of regional and European security.

Furthermore, a potential experience exchange between the Ministry’s employees and EUPM experts was analyzed, which would contribute to the strengthening of joint action capabilities, in the context of the EU Support HUB’s activity in the Republic of Moldova.

In this regard, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, has given assurances that he will personally provide expertise on crisis management.

The Minister also spoke about the need to implement an early warning system to identify and counter threats, which would ensure a safe and stable environment for citizens.

The EU Partnership Mission was inaugurated in Chisinau on May 31st with the aim of enhancing the resilience of Moldova’s security sector in the area of crisis management and hybrid threats, including cyber security, countering foreign intelligence manipulation and foreign interference.
