Regional security discussed with partners from the Republic of Lithuania

National and regional security depends on the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and EU Member States. In this regard, Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco met with H.E. Tadas Valionis, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova.

The war has changed the way the staff of the internal affairs system understands and carries out its mission. In this respect, the strengthening of resilience at the EU’s external border and cooperation between the two countries at police and border police level were discussed.

Moreover, the officials have agreed on the high degree of propaganda’s impact on the division of society and discussed ways to fight it. The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Lithuania share the same threats, and these could be prevented and combated through the EU Security Hub.

At the end of the meeting, H.E. Tadas Valionis has expressed support for the internal affairs system and openness to provide assistance for the development of the MIA.
