MIA State Secretary Daniella Misail-Nichitin attended today a round table on ‘WOMEN LEADERSHIP’ organized by the ‘SINDLEX’ Federation.

In this context, Ms Misail-Nichitin highlighted that the number of female professionals working in the international security sector is constantly increasing.

Women contribute as much as men to the building and development of a free and democratic society, raising by their own example new generations of leaders.

Participants also discussed about the increasing role of women in the security and defence sector, in particular within the internal affairs system, and improving of the leadership skills.

Those present also assessed the role of women in the European path of our country and steps they have taken for the Republic of Moldova to be granted EU candidate status.

At the beginning of the discussion, the State Secretary referred to the MIA Roadmap, which includes the national programme for the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 ‘Women, Peace and Security’ and is to be voted by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

‘Women employed within the internal affairs system have sufficient strength, professionalism, courage, determination and a power of predictability and intervention in solving crisis situations. Women working in the security sector are today fighting with determination to alleviate the crisis generated by war, and they are also working to build sustainable mechanisms to protect our fellow women who are subject to domestic, workplace or social abuse. And they succeed every time’, concluded the State Secretary.
