The Republic of Moldova continues to support the war-affected people of Ukraine

The humanitarian support offered by the Republic of Moldova to the Ukrainian people affected by the war has been turned into a legal document.

Stocks of food, hygiene items, products that provide temporary shelter or temporary hospital in camp conditions were sent to Ukraine at the end of January this year. This is a humanitarian batch worth a total of about EUR 763,214. Most of these goods were identified from the stocks of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, which jointly with the General Inspectorate of Border Police ensured the operational state border crossing of the batch towards Ukraine.

The Committee for Exceptional Situations decided earlier this year to grant, from state and mobilisation reserves, international assistance to the neighbouring country to support the Ukrainian people affected by the military aggression of the Russian Federation.

According to the decision approved today, the Government will allocate about EUR 293,645 from the reserve fund to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to supplement the reserve stocks and to compensate the costs of transporting the international batch.
