Ministry of Internal Affairs receives donation of equipment from EU Partnership Mission in Moldova

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) received equipment today from the European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM Moldova). This equipment will enhance the efficiency of activities related to European integration policies and the implementation of the strategy to modernise the internal affairs system.

The contribution from EUPM Moldova will also ensure the effectiveness of the secretariat of the EU Support Centre for Internal Security and Border Management of the Republic of Moldova (Security HUB). This center represents an innovative European cooperation mechanism for operational response to cross-border challenges arising from the war in Ukraine.

The Moldova – EU partnership is the mechanism through which the resilience of European states has been bolstered against challenges posed by the war at the border, the ongoing hybrid war in our country and the surge in cross-border crime fueled by the armed conflict.

„Moldova is now recognised as a security provider, thanks to the support from our traditional partners who have provided assistance where needed. Today’s intervention by the EUPM Moldova further strengthens and enhances the efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is responsible for the development and coordination of policies and programmes aimed at European integration and modernizing the internal affairs system. With this contribution, the Moldovan internal affairs system will soon become efficient, comparable to those of the EU countries”, said Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, during discussions with the EUPM partners at today’s meeting.

EUPM Moldova has donated computers and electronic accessories to MIA, including HDMI cables, docks, keyboards, monitors, printers, etc. essential for the current activities of MIA.
