The Minister of Internal Affairs attended the opening event of the EU Partnership Mission to Moldova

Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco attended today the inauguration event of the EU Partnership Mission to Moldova (EUPM), together with the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu and representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps in Chisinau.

The Minister appreciated the political commitment of the European Union, expressed by the approval and opening of the EUPM mission in our country in a very short time, at a time when the need for a reinforced mechanism to manage hybrid threats is so great. The dialogue and close cooperation between Moldovan and European experts on the EUPM platform become even more relevant as the European Union’s strategic framework in the field of security, represented by the strategies of the Council, the Commission and the Parliament, will be renewed in 2024.

I am confident that the new security paradigm, and the fact that we are standing together, will ensure that the blackmail, threats and challenges will remain history, and that Moldova and the European Union will demonstrate capabilities for joint action in strengthening and securing the security belt in the East of the European continent. On behalf of the entire national security system, I thank you Mr Borrell for the trus you place in us by coming with other European leaders to our home, to Moldova. This is a signal to us that the Republic of Moldova is recognised as a producer of security in the European space’ said Minister Revenco.
