The MIA attended the regional training course “Drug trafficking” held in Budapest

Several employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs attended the regional training course ‘Drug Trafficking’, held in Budapest (Hungary) between March 27-31, 2023, in the framework of the project – Training and Operational Partnership against Organised Crime in the EaP (TOPCOP) – CEPOL.

Under the aegis of the MIA, employees from the Customs Service, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases attended the activity.

The event brought together participants from Moldova, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia. The aim of the training was focused on the understanding of drug production, trafficking and distribution of cannabis, cocaine, heroin and synthetic drugs (encrypted communication channels, drug trafficking).

The training also provided participants with an overview of recent trends in drug trafficking throughout the production and transit areas, ongoing cooperation in the fight against this type of crime, including the latest joint operations, as well as raising awareness of the opportunities and tools available for law enforcement.
