Chisinau, January 17, 2023 – Government members approved today the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on police cooperation, signed in Chisinau on November 16, 2023.
The purpose of the Agreement is to enhance cooperation between the relevant Moldovan and Albanian authorities through mutual assistance in combating offences regulated by the national legislation of the parties.
The areas of cooperation covered by the Agreement include cross-border crime; offenses against life, health, and physical integrity of individuals; drug production and trafficking; pimping; human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children; theft; illicit trafficking of weapons, ammunition, and explosives; cybercrime.
Thus, the signing of this bilateral Agreement will lead to an efficient exchange of information and best practices between the police agencies from the two countries, contributing to the prevention and combating of cross-border crime.
