EUROGENDFOR supports the accession of the General Inspectorate of Carabineers to the European Gendarmerie Force

The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a bilateral meeting with the delegation of the European Gendarmerie Force EUROGENDFOR.

The meeting took place in the context of the assessment visit (June 19th – June 23rd) of the structure, functions and tasks of the General Command and subordinate subdivisions of the GIC.

Among the topics reviewed were cooperation priorities and the opportunity for the General Inspectorate of Carabineers (GIC) to join EUROGENDFOR as an observer, the exchange of practices between institutions and the coordination of missions in terms of ensuring, maintaining, and restoring public order.

The integrated approach to security and public order involves collaboration between different institutions and actors of the society, such as law enforcement, local authorities, community, and business. It is necessary to join efforts and work together with a shared goal: to protect citizens, property, and values of our society”, said Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladislav Cojuhari.

The official stressed that an integrated approach to security will lead to improved communication and information sharing between institutions, allowing risks and threats to be identified and counteracted in a more operational way.

Close cooperation and effective coordination allow us to respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations or security incidents.’

The first EUROGENDFOR assessment mission took place two years ago.
