A delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by Minister Ana Revenco, is paying a working visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Februarie 7-8.
During the meeting with Vice-President of the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), Boštjan Škrlec, the officials discussed about the deepening of bilateral relations considering the support Eurojust might provide for the functioning of the Security HUB. They have also discussed about cooperation prospects between institutions, as part of the EU experts’ recommendation to fight cross-border organised crime, based on data exchange.
During the visit to the National Institute for the Study of Crime, the MIA delegation has been familiarized with the processes and the latest research methods. They have also discussed about the possibility to exchange expertise related to supply of forensic tools and practices, especially regarding the integrated analysis of digital evidence from multiple sources.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also had a meeting with the leadership of the Royal Military Police (Royal Netherlands Marechaussee) and the National Police Corps of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The officials have tackled topics related to the intensified cooperation in the field of illicit arms, money and human trafficking, drone surveillance, border management. They have also discussed the opportunity to provide assistance in designing processes for police and support units, given that the MIA aims to develop fast and proactive responses to public order disturbances, to identify and reduce hybrid threats and their occurrences.
During the meeting with the management of the Ossendrecht Police Academy, discussions focused on particular specialisations within the academy. Thus, the MIA delegation became acquainted with high level training programmes that contribute to the development of police practice.
The parties expressed mutual openness for cooperation in areas of common interest.
