Measures regarding foreigners who get a refusal of entry to the Republic of Moldova during the EPC Summit on June 1st

The Media Group for Security News on the European Political Community Summit (MGSN-EPC) 2023 informs:

By Decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, between May 31, 2023 and June 2, 2023, a Temporary Accommodation Center for foreigners who got a refusal of entry to the Republic of Moldova will be set up within the Center for Temporary Placement of Foreigners under the authority of the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This measure will be applied in the context of the airspace closure of the Republic of Moldova during the Summit on June 1, when the activity of airline operators within the Chisinau International Airport will be suspended, and the immediate departure from the border crossing points will not be possible. Thus, foreigners who were not allowed, for various reasons, to enter the Republic of Moldova will be transferred and placed at the Temporary Accommodation Center.

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police will transport people to the Center. The expenses for food and medical assistance incurred by the Center will be paid by the General Inspectorate for Migration, except cases in which the persons are prohibited from entering the Republic of Moldova. The accommodation expenses for these persons will be incurred by the airline operator that provided their transport.

Moreover, the time limit of accommodation in the Center for foreigners who were refused the entry to the Republic of Moldova through the Chisinau International Airport will not exceed 72 hours.
MGSN-EPC reminds everyone that in order to ensure aeronautical safety and security, all civil aircraft flights will be prohibited in the entire airspace of the Republic of Moldova from June 1 at 00:00 (local time) until June 2 at 07:00 (local time), with the exception of official aircrafts.

The MGSN-EPC includes the communicators from the national public order, security and national defence institutions: Ministry of Internal Affairs with the General Police Inspectorate, Border Police, General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, General Inspectorate for Migration, General Inspectorate of Carabineers, MIA’s Academy ‘Stefan cel Mare’; State Protection and Guard Service; Security and Intelligence Service; Ministry of Defense; General Prosecutor’s Office; Civil Aviation Authority; National Administration of Penitentiaries.
