Accreditations for journalists

In order to ensure the access of the media representatives to the information of public interest, the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority (MIA) grants on request, without discrimination, permanent or temporary accreditations to journalists and other representatives of the media. Accredited persons will have priority access to the information disseminated and the events organized by MIA.

Permanent accreditation
The permanent accreditation is valid until the end of the current year, and the journalists who have permanent accreditation are informed by e-mail about the activities of MIA and have access to the public actions organized by MIA.
To obtain a permanent accreditation to MIA, journalists must complete and submit an accreditation application, the model of which can be downloaded here (estimated average time to complete the application: 5 minutes).

The application for accreditation shall be accompanied, for compliance, by the following documents:

  • photo (work ID type);
  • copy of the work ID card;
  • copy of identity card.

The above-mentioned documents can be sent in electronic format to the:
E-mail address: presa@mai.gov.md
Phone: +37367117042
Address: in Chisinău, bd. Stefan cel Mare si Sfant 75, MD-2012.

Permanent credentials are issued as follows:

  • for the central print media: 3 editors and 2 photojournalists;
  • for the local print media: 1 editor and 1 photojournalist;
  • for radio and television stations: 3 editors and 8 operators and technicians;
  • for press agencies: 3 editors and 3 photojournalists.

Permanent accreditation is granted within 2 (two) working days from the registration of the accreditation application and is valid until the end of the current year, requiring an annual renewal.

After obtaining the accreditation, by presenting at the MAI headquarters, the mass media representatives will pick up the accreditation cards, after presenting an identity card or press card, within the validity period. Credentials are not transferable.

Temporary accreditation

Temporary accreditation is valid for one day and allows journalists access to public actions organized by the MIA. Temporary accreditation can be obtained each time, based on an accreditation request from the editorial office, signed by the editor-in-chief, for the person/persons requesting accreditation.

An accreditation application form can be downloaded here (estimated average time to complete: 5 minutes).

The application for accreditation shall be accompanied, for compliance, by the following documents:

  • photo (work ID type);
  • copy of the work ID card;
  • copy of identity card.

The documents mentioned above can be sent in electronic format to:

E-mail address: presa@mai.gov.md
Phone: +37367117042
Address: in Chisinău, bd. Stefan cel Mare si Sfant 75, MD-2012.

Temporary accreditation is granted within 2 (two) working days from the registration of the accreditation request and is valid for one day, only for the action/actions for which it was issued.

After obtaining the accreditation, by presenting it to the MIA headquarters, the mass media representatives will pick up the accreditation cards, after presenting an identity document or the press card, within the validity period. Credentials are not transferable.

Refusal, withdrawal or expiration of accreditation

The withdrawal or refusal of the accreditation of a media representative must be motivated by facts that prevent the MIA’s activity from being carried out under normal conditions and that do not concern the opinions expressed in the media by that journalist. In the event of the withdrawal of a journalist’s accreditation, the press institution (the newsroom on whose behalf he obtained the accreditation) will be informed, in order to ensure that another journalist obtains the accreditation.

În cazul în care jurnalistul acreditat a încetat contractul de muncă redacția în numele căreia acesta a obținut acreditare la MAI, acreditarea acestuia își pierde valabilitatea. Thus, media institutions must notify the MAI in writing if they wish to withdraw the accreditation of a journalist or if there are cases in which the employment relationship between the accredited journalist and the newsroom on whose behalf he obtained accreditation at the MAI is terminated.

Also, journalists with permanent accreditation are asked to request the renewal of accreditation at the MIA, at the beginning of each calendar year. Notifications and requests regarding the credentials of journalists may be sent in writing to:
E-mail: presa@mai.gov.md
Phone: +37367117042
Address: in Chișinău, bd. Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt 75, MD-2012.

Accreditation of foreign journalists
The accreditation procedure for media representatives from abroad is regulated by the MAEIE.
