Building partnerships: Moldova’s engagement with EUROGENDFOR

Vladislav Cojuhari, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Dumitru Scurtu, Commander of the General Inspectorate of Carabineers (GIC) of MIA, held a bilateral meeting with Hans Vroegh, Commander of the European Gendarmerie Force (EUROGENDFOR), along with representatives from the EUROGENDFOR delegation, Colonel Marian Panfil and Colonel Laureano Martin Velasco.

During the meeting, Vladislav Cojuhari expressed gratitude for EUROGENDFOR’s support and contribution to the accession of the Republic of Moldova/MIA GIC to the European Gendarmerie Force (EUROGENDFOR) as an observer. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between Moldova and EUROGENDFOR in the field of internal affairs, particularly in facilitating the participation of Carabineers in international missions and operations, as well as their training and certification in accordance with international standards.

Finally, Mr Cojuhari underscored that an integrated approach to security would enhance communication and information exchange between institutions, enabling swift identification and mitigation of risks and threats. The officials reaffirmed their commitment to promoting security and stability at both regional and international levels.
