Border police will improve their operational capacities

Border police will enhance their operational capabilities thanks to a generous donation from the Federal Republic of Germany, consisting of 38 cars and 5 motor boats.

The festive event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros, the German Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Margret Maria Uebber, and the leadership of the General Inspectorate of Border Police.

In his speech, Minister Efros expressed appreciation for Germany’s significant contribution to strengthening Moldova’s border security, emphasizing that these new resources will significantly enhance the mobility of border police and facilitate the prevention operations and activities meant to maintain safe and secure borders.

Ambassador Uebber emphasized that this donation is part of a series of measures to support Moldovan border police in improving border control, reaffirming Germany’s commitment to supporting these efforts.

Border Police Chief Ruslan Galusca expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the German Government and highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in border security, in the context of Moldova’s commitments to align with the acquis communautaire and pursue the EU accession.

The ceremony concluded with an information and familiarization tour of the donated equipment, which will support Border Police operations in promoting regional security and stability.
