Adrian Efros, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, and Panche Toshkovski, his counterpart from the Republic of North Macedonia, had a bilateral meeting on April 3, 2024. This meeting followed the Meeting of Ministers of Interior held in Skopje.
It marked a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in matters concerning home affairs, particularly focusing on security-related issues. The discussions emphasized the need for bolstering regional efforts to combat common threats and to foster stability and security in the Balkan region. The ministers underscored the importance of exchanging information and experiences regarding the process of accession to the European Union, given the similar trajectories of both countries.
Among other topics discussed were the identification and implementation of effective measures to counter illegal migration, human trafficking, cybercrime and other forms of organized crime. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation within the South East Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA) to promote and implement modern policing practices.
This meeting reaffirms the commitment of both countries to work together to promote security and stability in the region and advance the European integration process.
