Benefits and challenges of the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the EU have been discussed in Chisinau with the EU female ministers

Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco participated jointly with President Maia Sandu and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu in the public discussion “Moldova’s EU accession: a conversation with EU’s women ministers”.

The official meeting, which took place in Chisinau, was attended by a group of European Affairs Ministers from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Liechtenstein, and Romania.

During the discussion, the officials discussed the benefits and challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova in joining the EU, as well as the progress our country has made in the last year after applying for the membership and the short- and medium-term priorities.

The ministers also noted the results achieved by the Republic of Moldova in the field of political representation of women, as well as the efforts undertaken by our authorities to promote equality and fight gender-based violence.

Minister Revenco has been awarded the “Diplomatic Merit” Order for international promotion of the Republic of Moldova.

Please note that the visit of the European officials was occasioned by the International Women’s Day, aimed at supporting the course of European integration of the Republic of Moldova and emphasizing the role and contribution of women in the processes of modernization and European integration.
