Advancing cooperation: Minister of Internal Affairs meets with officials from National Administration of State Reserves and Special Affairs of Romania

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, met with Georgian Pop, the President of the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Affairs of Romania, and Andreea Bătrînu, the Executive Director of the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Affairs – Territorial Unit 515 Bucharest.

The Minister expressed gratitude for the consistent support provided by the Government of Romania through the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Affairs of Romania for humanitarian aid extended to our country in recent years.

“It is an honor to welcome our distinguished guests today and express our appreciation for their unwavering commitment and support. Our collaboration has significantly advanced cooperation in humanitarian aid and security, underscoring the importance of a robust partnership”, Minister Efros remarked.

Discussions covered future cooperation priorities between the two institutions, including the revival and updating of the Cooperation Agreement signed in 2018, with a focus on Moldova as a candidate country for EU membership. The participants also explored ongoing support for capacity building of MIA subdivisions and opportunities for jointly accessing European funds, especially within projects supported by the International Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid).

Additionally, the significance of cross-border cooperation projects within the RO-MD Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020 and the INTERREG VI NEXT ROMANIA-REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA 2021-2027 Programme, which bolster security and cross-border risk management in the region, was highlighted.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs presented the major cooperation advancements in various areas, including the ratification of the Agreement on Moldova’s participation in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the establishment of the specialized Family Justice Centre service, and the reduction of wait times at state border crossing points.

Finally, the officials emphasized the importance of international partnerships and reiterated their commitment to promoting transparency and efficiency in common areas of focus.
